Buongiorno
Il pregio della stampa serigrafica è il processo artigianale che, seppur permette di stampare in serie, rende ogni copia diversa dall’altra per qualche minimo dettaglio, donando all’oggetto la magia che solo il “fatto a mano” sa creare. Il mio obiettivo non è solo farvi apprezzare il disegno ma anche farvi innamorare dell’imperfezione.

“Buongiorno” è un auspicio che faccio a me stesso per la mia carriera da serigrafo. Dopo un periodo di sperimentazione ho capito di voler fare sul serio e portare avanti la serigrafia parallelamente al tatuaggio. Cercavo un soggetto che rappresentasse l’inizio di un percorso nuovo e ho scelto la moka per una serie di motivi. In primis il caffè per noi italiani è la sveglia del mattino, il carburante senza il quale la macchina non parte. Mi sembrava, quindi, adatto a simboleggiare l’inizio. Il caffè fatto con la moka è “casa”, tradizione, ricordi, profumo, dedicare il tempo necessario a se stessi. Inoltre, ogni caffè che esce dalla moka è in qualche modo diverso da quello bevuto ieri e da quello che berremo domani. Ho trovato che tutti questi elementi descritti per la moka siano esattamente ciò che rappresenta per me la visione della “mia” serigrafia, artigianale e tradizionale. Ho cercato di trasmettere la mia inesperienza rispetto a questa nuova avventura scegliendo di restare sui toni del grigio, come se io dovessi ancora “scoprire” i colori, mentre la parte marrone rappresenta la curiosità e la voglia di migliorare, lasciata volutamente granulosa e disomogenea per sottolineare sia questo concetto sia l’effetto del caffè.

The virtue of screen printing is the artisanal process that, although it allows for printing in series, makes each copy different from the next in some small detail, giving the object the magic that only the ‘handmade‘ can create. My aim is not only to make you appreciate the design but also to make you fall in love with imperfection.

“Buongiorno” is a wish I make to myself for my career as a screen printer. After a period of experimentation, I realised I wanted to get serious and pursue screen printing in parallel with tattooing. I was looking for a subject that would represent the beginning of a new path and I chose the moka for a number of reasons. First of all, coffee for us Italians is the morning alarm clock, the fuel without which the machine won’t start, so it seemed suitable to symbolise the beginning. Coffee made with a moka is ‘home‘, tradition, memories, perfume, taking time for oneself, and furthermore every coffee that comes out of the moka is somehow different from the one we drank yesterday and the one we will drink tomorrow. I found all these elements described for the moka to be exactly what represents for me the vision of ‘my’ screen printing, artisanal and traditional. I have tried to convey my inexperience with this new adventure by choosing to remain in shades of grey, as if I had yet to ‘discover’ colours, while the brown part represents curiosity and the desire to improve, deliberately left grainy and uneven to emphasise both this concept and the effect of coffee.
